Do you ever wonder why we're here? I mean besides the obvious. We are here because our parents had sex and we were conceived. I believe that everything happens for a reason. I also believe in God. I believe that God knew me before I was born. Besides all that there are days when I feel like I should be making a difference. There are times when I think that if I died tomorrow the world would not be any different because I had been here for 52 years. Yes I have 2 beautiful daughters. That in itself is worth my being born. There is an old song with the lyrics....."if that's all there is". I like everybody else have had the thought of death cross my mind like a fleeting puff of smoke throughout my life. However a few months ago a dear girl whom I graduated high school with passed on. She had so much life in her. She had so much life left to live. She wasn't sick. She went in for a routine "female" surgery and never came out. She made a difference. Lots and lots of people were helped by her sweet spirit, kind words, and caring attitude. Since that day I have thought about my life and after life a great deal. Something inside me wants to make a difference. I want to make a mark. Not by being a celebrity or having a lot of money, but by being kind and caring. There is so much hate in the world. I have seen first hand this week that most people don't really care. As long as whatever it is doesn't interfere with most people's lives they don't want anything to do with it. Remember the story of the Good Samaritan? Wouldn't most of us just walk on by on the other side? We don't want to get involved. It's none of our business. Apathy is the devil and he is laughing with delight.
